A Gentle Mindfulness Practice To Reconnect With Yourself

Cultivating mindfulness in your daily life is an important skill to learn. With so much stimulation from the outside world, it's essential to understand how to slow down, turn within, and reconnect with yourself.

When you move through your day mindfully and intentionally, you become more present and in tune with yourself. There is a sense of ease and flow that enhances your experience. As you choose to relax into the present moment, you become more open to the loving energy that is always surrounding you.

Your Source and your angels are constantly with you in everything that you are involved in. Whether it's washing the dishes, making a meal, watering your garden, or spending time with your family, this pure, Divine Love is present with you.

Cultivating mindfulness in your daily life is really about learning how to open up to this pure Love, and allowing it to flow to you and through you.

When you are open to the Love of your Source and your angels, you are replenished. Your mind is calm, the cells of your body are able to rebalance themselves, and healing energy flows through your being.

This is where your true state of happiness is.

I thought it would be nice to share a little mindfulness exercise that can help you reconnect with yourself and realign with this Love. You can do this anytime you need to come back to your centre. The more often you practice this throughout your day, the easier it will be to find your centered place.

You only need about 5-10 minutes for this mindfulness practice, and you can do it anywhere; in your home, out in the garden, in your car - any place you can sit quietly for a short period of time.

A woman is sitting outside with her legs crossed. Her hands are in prayer, close to her mouth.

To begin, sit up nice and tall with your spine comfortably elongated. Place your hands on your belly.

Now, breathe deeply into your belly. As you inhale, feel your belly expanding forward. And as you exhale, feel your belly gently contracting inward. Draw your focus inward. Feel your belly moving into your hands on each inhale. And feel your belly drawing in with each exhale. Take 20 deep breaths just like this. One full inhale and exhale counts as one breath.

Once you have completed your 20 breaths, let your hands relax down into your lap. And bring your attention to your body. Notice how it feels. Notice the areas that feel more spacious and light. Feel the comfort and peace in your mind and heart.

Now, bring your attention to the sounds that surround you. What can you hear? Maybe it's the hum of the air conditioner, someone mowing their lawn, or the excited chatter of children playing outside. Let those sounds come into your awareness.

And then, place both hands on your heart. Feel your heartbeat underneath your palms. Take a moment to thank yourself for taking the time to slow down, reconnect and feel better.

And gently and comfortably, let yourself move back into your day.

I hope you try this mindfulness practice out, and that it becomes a gentle ritual to help you come home to yourself.
